2012 World Congress on Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering

Dear colleagues,

It is our great honor to invite you to participate in the World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering in Beijing, China from May 26 to 31, 2012. This is a triennial congress of the International Union of Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM), which is the peak organisation for the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) and the International Organisation for Medical Physics (IOMP).

Promoting Human Health is an everlasting and dynamic topic that is driven by the change of disease spectrum, economic and social development and personalized health management. The progress on medical physics and biomedical engineering provided a powerful backup to realization of personalized medicine and translational medicine based on trans-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary collaboration as well as information sharing. The triennial World Congress may function as a platform for these activities

During the World Congress 2012, the participants will share the latest information on global health challenges, advanced technologies and innovative applications. It will be a window to show participants the up-to-date picture of research, education development and industrial contribution in the field of medical physics and biomedical engineering. Beijing has hundreds year history as the capital of China and is the key city with academic and economic functions. She is also a hub of international/domestic traffic communication. I am sure that you may have a wonderful experience of visiting this city during the Congress.

Call for abstract and paper

This is the first announcement and call for abstracts and registration for the 2012 World Congress of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering (WC2012). The triennial World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering will be held from May 26th to 31st in 2012, at Beijing International Convention Center, Beijing, China. The congress in 2012 is hosted by International Union of Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM), International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP), International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE), Chinese Society of Biomedical Engineering (CSBME) and Chinese Society of Medical Physics (CSMP). The congress theme is “Promoting Health through Technology”. Topics and workshops will include more than 20 aspects in the field of medical physics and biomedical engineering. Abstract and paper submission deadline: November 11, 2011
Deadline for author registration: February 15, 2012
Early bird registration deadline: March 15, 2012

Submission of Abstracts and papers:

We are pleased to invite participants to submit half-page abstracts for consideration in the final program and optional papers for consideration for publication in IFMBE Proceedings. Abstracts of the World Congress will be published on CD, after a simplified review process, will be available when the World Congress opens. Full paper contributions, accepted after peer review, will be published as IFMBE Proceedings on CD and on the Internet. The IFMBE Proceedings are published by Springer Verlag and are cited in Scopus, WoS Proceedings (including ISTP, etc.), Springerlink, and Google Schoolar etc.
